TARGET has revived its car-seat trade in scheme – offering shoppers rewards in just four simple steps.
Starting tomorrow eligible customers can trade in an old car seat or base and receive a major discount toward a new one.

The retailer is bringing back its popular Car Seat Trade-in Event after proving a massive success with parents last year.
Shoppers can bring in their old car seat or base – even if it’s old, expired, or damaged – and receive a 20 per cent discount on a new one.
They have until October 4 to donate an eligible item.
Eligible trade-in items include infant car seats, convertible car seats, car seat bases, and harness or booster car seats.
Car seats can only be traded in at a Target store.
Participating Target locations will have drop-off boxes for guests’ used items located near Guest Services.
Nearly all stores, excluding select small format stores, are participating in the trade-in event.
Redeeming the 20 per cent Target Circle Bonus is easier than ever.
Customers just need to drop their car seat off in a designated box at a Target store.
As soon as a shopper donates a used car seat or other qualifying item, they just need to scan the QR code on the box.
The bonus will automatically stay in a shopper’s Wallet until they use it twice or it expires.
Items like highchairs, bouncers, rockers, and boosters are also eligible for the discount.
Target shoppers – especially thrifty parents – were thrilled to hear that the popular event was making a comeback.
“YAY I was wondering when was this going to happen again!” one user wrote on Facebook.

TAKE A SEAT
Target launched its first car seat trade-in program in April 2016.
Since then, over 3 million car seats have been recycled so far.
That includes more than 45 million pounds of car seat material.
Target’s partners recycle materials from old car seats to create new products.
These include pallets, plastic buckets, and “construction materials such as steel beams and carpet padding,” according to the store’s trade-in FAQ page.
LOYALTY PROGRAM

RIGHT ON TARGET
This isn’t the first time Target has offered a trade-in event.
Last month, the retailer launched its Denim Take Back Event, allowing shoppers to trade in a used or outgrown pair of jeans or other denim clothing item.
In exchange, shoppers received 20 per cennt off a new denim apparel purchase.
Target’s Chief Operating Officer, Rick Gomez, recently emphasized the company’s “commitment to affordability” as one of its main priorities moving forward.
Target employees and managers have also encouraged shoppers to sign up for Target Circle, claiming that many customers still “underestimate” the loyalty program’s huge benefits.
