TARGET is set to close all of its locations across the country for a whole day, leaving shoppers desperate for an alternative.
The beginning of fall means that Thanksgiving is right around the corner, but it will have a huge impact on America’s retail network.

Already this year, shoppers have been interrupted by federal holidays like Easter Sunday, Juneteenth and Labor Day.
And for Thanksgiving, Target will be doing the same thing it did for all of those holidays, but there will be some special store hours kicking in soon.
According to Target’s website, all of its stores will be closed on the day itself, Thursday, November 28.
Shoppers will still be able to use the Target website and app on that day, but should expect delays in their orders being processed.
Doors will then open at 6 am local time for Black Friday, one of the biggest sales days of the entire year.
Costco’s website confirms that the warehouse chain will be closed for all of Thanksgiving.
This means that shoppers will have to find an alternative and will be advised not to go to any of the chain’s stores on that day.
WHERE COULD YOU GO?
The last time this sort of holiday shutdown happened was Labor Day, and back then, there were plenty of shopping alternatives.
In fact, on Labor Day, Target was open as normal.
At the time, shoppers could rely on chains like Walmart, Sam’s Club, Kroger, Aldi, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods to remain open.
While shoppers are encouraged to check with their local stores befote going out on November 28, there is a chance these will be open.
Apart from grocery retailers, duelling chains Home Depot, Lowe’s were open on Labor Day, as well as pharmacies CVS and Walgreens.
Thanksgiving is generally considered a more major holiday compared to Labor Day, so again, shoppers should check with their stores before doing anything on November 28.
They can do this by heading to each chain’s store locator and inputting their address to see what their local store is up to.
