Taylor Swift eyes Las Vegas venues including Sphere for ‘unique’ performances after Showgirl album reveal

TAYLOR Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce may be singing Viva Las Vegas once again as the pop star is eager to perform shows in the city and is eyeing up gigs at Sphere.

The singer, 35, sent fans into a meltdown when she revealed the title of her new album this week, The Life of a Showgirl.

In keeping with the theme of her 12th record, a source has told The U.S. Sun that Taylor’s team has been discussing Vegas gigs “for months” and she plans to bring Swifties a Sin City spectacle.

An insider said, “Taylor’s team has been talking about Vegas gigs in private for a while, including at a dinner a few months back in Nashville with other music managers.

“They are seeing what would work for the new album and have specifically been eyeing up concerts at Sphere.

“Nothing is confirmed yet, but they are discussing logistics and which venue could work best.”

The source added, “Given how unique Sphere is from a production perspective, fans will no doubt be foaming at the mouth to see how Taylor could potentially use the venue.

“There’s nothing like it in the world. U2 and the Backstreet Boys have already shown what’s possible, but Taylor would take things to the next level.

“Generally speaking, a mini Vegas run wouldn’t be bad for her. Touring is exhausting, and staying in one place for a bit would be a lot easier.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Taylor’s rep and Sphere for comment and is yet to hear back.

Taylor’s record-breaking Eras Tour only came to an end in December last year after 21 months, and she performed a total of 149 concerts.

The tour, which began in March 2023, spanned across 51 cities and 21 countries.

FAN FRENZY

In a recent interview, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis compared Taylor to an athlete and said the Eras Tour performances are “arguably more exhausting” than competing in the NFL.

He told GQ, “She may not think of herself as an athlete. She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete. But I’ve seen what she goes through. I’ve seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it’s mind-blowing.”

He continued, “To go out on a stage, on a computer, essentially, for three hours. The [Eras Tour] floor is literally-I’ve seen underneath that thing. It is a football-field-sized computer.

“You take that into Singapore, where it is scorching hot, and all of a sudden you’re feeling the fumes from the computer and you’re feeling the fumes from the sun and you’re doing a show for three hours with a lot of energy, bringing it every single song. That is arguably more exhausting than how much I put in on a Sunday, and she’s doing it three, four, five days in a row.”

Fans have been in a frenzy on X about the possibility of a Vegas residency after Taylor revealed the name of her album in a clip from Travis’s podcast, New Heights, which he hosts with his brother, Jason.

The full episode will be released on Wednesday at 7 pm ET.

One Swiftie posted, “If Taylor Swift doesn’t do a ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ residency at Sphere, we riot.”

A second wrote, “Calling it now: after years of worldwide touring, TS will sign the biggest Vegas residency of all time. Leading ‘life of a showgirl”‘ticket sales to single handedly save las vegas.”

“If Taylor‘s not touring this album she needs to at least do a Vegas residency in the sphere,” a third added.

Sphere is a revolutionary venue offering fans an immersive experience and has been a popular venue choice for major artists in recent months.

VINTAGE VIDEO

The 366-foot-tall, 516-foot-wide venue, the largest spherical structure on Earth, features an Exosphere with a 580,000-square-foot display, the largest LED screen in the world.

Back in May, fellow musician Kenny Chesney, 57, put Taylor on the big screen at the venue for his summer residency, showing a photograph of the two of them together.

Chesney was performing his 2002 hit song Big Star, as graphics made fans feel as though they were inside a pinball machine, before the throwback snap suddenly appeared.

Meanwhile, fans are excited to hear more about Taylor’s record on Wednesday’s New Heights podcast, which has been teasing clips from the episode.

The news came after The U.S. Sun revealed she had been filming a secret music video in Los Angeles, which began late last month.

A source said, “The hours were intense with many late nights, and filming over several days.

“Full details have to be kept under wraps to not spoil any surprises, but the theme is very glam and vintage.

“Several stylists worked on the looks, and multiple backup dancers were involved who have worked with her for years.”

Although those working on the video were not allowed to hear the full song, they did hear a “pop beat” and the track is said to be from the new album.

It’s understood that stylists have been working with a famous costume company in Los Angeles that counts the likes of Dolly Parton as a client.

Fans have already expressed excitement over the idea of a showgirl-themed video, with one posting on X, “Omg omg omg. WHAT IF WE GET A WHOLE VEGAS SHOWGIRL STYLE MUSIC VIDEO WITH THE VIGILANTE CHAIRS?!! And her eras dancers are in it???”
