Swift has been credited with helping drive interest in the NFL since going public with boyfriend Travis Kelce in 2023.
The 14-time Grammy winner and 10-time Pro Bowler announced their engagement last month.
Reports from British pop culture journalist Rob Shuter suggest the NFL wanted Swift to front this season’s showpiece in San Francisco.
But Shuter claims Swift walked away from a potential deal.
“Taylor Swift doesn’t need exposure,” a source told Shuter, via the Sport Business Journal.
“She wanted a deal that reflected her value.”
Following the report, the NFL were quick to announce their headliner during Sunday’s game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.
Rapper Bad Bunny will be the lead artist on stage at Super Bowl LX.
The newly-built home of the San Francisco 49ers will host the Super Bowl for the second time.
“Heard there’s a football game during Bad Bunny’s concert?” joked one fan on Instagram after the news was revealed.
“This will break records,” predicted another.
Swift, 35, jetted in from California to watch Kelce’s Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens 37-20.
The pop sensation was a flower girl at Selena Gomez‘s wedding on Saturday.
But that didn’t stop her catching a flight back to Missouri in time to watch Kelce put up strong numbers.
Travis reeled in five catches for 48 yards as the Chiefs went 2-2 on the season.

The much-needed win was a tonic for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who recently teamed up with Kelce for an off-field business venture.
“We’ve been working extremely hard and we want to have success,” three-time Super Bowl champ Mahomes told reporters.
“And we’ve just been making little mistakes here and there and that causes frustration.
“But at the same time, we’ve been learning from them. We’ll learn from this game.”
