Taylor Swift’s favorite $23 cocktail which is set to make US Open $13m in two weeks – more than both winners combined

THE US Open is well underway with the stars of the tennis world entertaining New York crowds.

But something being served up in the bars has become even more popular among fans than the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Naomi Osaka.

And despite the star power on show, it will not be a tennis player who bags the biggest payday from the US Open.

Rather, the cocktail named the Honey Deuce has become the must-taste drink at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The drink has been seen in the hands of countless celebrities attending the US Open including Taylor Swift, Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Ratajkowski.

Swift was spotted with one of the signature cocktails when she attended last year’s tournament alongside Travis Kelce.

It contains vodka, lemonade, raspberry liqueur, and its three skewered balls of honeydew melon.

This gives the drink its iconic look, with the melon resembling tennis
balls.

Signature drinks have become a major part of tennis tournaments, with champagne becoming a notable feature at the French Open, despite alcohol being banned in the stands at Roland Garros.

Perhaps most famously, Wimbledon has exposed the famous Pimm’s Cup to international audiences.

While Pimm’s has its heritage in Wimbledon, the Honey Deuce has become synonymous with he US Open over recent years.

In 2006, tournament sponsor Grey Goose asked restaurateur Nick Mautone to create a signature cocktail for the US Open, with the Honey Deuce debuting at that year’s tournament.

A staggering 556,782 were sold during the 2024 tournament.

This works out to one being purchased every 1.5 seconds, with demand only rising a year later.

With the Honey Deuce in high demand, it is set to make the US Open
organisers a staggering $13 million across just two weeks in 2025.

The Honey Deuce has proven to be such big business for tournament
organisers that it is set to earn more across the two weeks than all of
the 2025 winners combined.

Italy’s Jannik Sinner, 24, stands to gain $5 million if he can defend
his crown.

Meanwhile, top seed Aryna Sabalenka, 27, remains in contention to also collect $5 million if she can make it back-to-back women’s title wins.

Combining these potential winnings with that of the men’s, women’s and the mixed doubles brings the total champions sum to just $11 million of the total $90 million purse.

This falls $2 million short of what the Honey Deuce is set to rake in
during the tournament.

Fans have refused to be put off by the high price.

And the drink has fast become a staple of the final slam of the year.
