TEEN Mom star Cory Wharton has revealed his daughter Maya, 3, must undergo a second open-heart surgery.
Maya was born with a heart condition that has required several surgeries, with her second open-heart op revealed this week.

The Teen Mom OG alum welcomed Maya with girlfriend Taylor Selfridge in June 2022.
Maya was born with a congenital heart defect called tricuspid atresia with VSD. The parents found out at 25 weeks pregnant.
Maya spent several weeks in the NICU after her birth as a result of her health issues.
Revealing her second open-heart surgery on Instagram this week, Cory shared a selection of images from the hospital.
In the caption, Cory wrote, “Prayers for Maya.
“Maya has a Cath lab this morning to get her ready for her next Open Heart Surgery.
‘STRESSFUL SITUATION’
“I think all my parents can agree. It’s always stressful when your kid has to go under anesthesia, especially when you start to have PTSD from all her other procedures.
“It’s not a good feeling, but we know she needs this in order to feel better.
“I’ll say this I know Maya is a lil warrior & we will get through this.”

MAYA’S HEART CONDITION
At the time of Maya’s birth, Taylor and Cory explained what was going on in a video, which was recorded prior to her birth.
“Back in February, I had my anatomy scan, which you get around, like, 20 weeks – I was 22 weeks – and after the anatomy scan, they basically called us and told us that the lower right side of the baby’s heart,” she began to explain before breaking down in tears.
“The right side of the baby’s heart was concerning. After that, they didn’t tell us what it was like; we didn’t know what it was yet.
“And so, I had, like, a week before they were going to give me another anatomy [scan] and an echo [echocardiogram].
“And they had, like, put on the chart, like, all sorts of different things that it might be, so I was a mess trying to Google everything,” the mom of two admitted.
‘SHE NEEDS THREE SURGERIES’
“And then I had another anatomy scan, then basically they found a name for it. It’s called ‘tricuspid atresia.’ So, basically, the lower right side of her heart didn’t form properly. It’s smaller.
“And so what that means is that, like, when she’s born, she’s gonna need probably three surgeries, possibly only two. Which we hope for only two, obviously.”
Cory is also a father to his eldest child Ryder from his relationship with Teen Mom star Cheyenne Floyd.
And with girlfriend Taylor, as well as daughter Maya, they share Mila Mae.
