Terry Bradshaw makes Cleveland Browns quarterback declaration on Fox NFL Sunday – ‘I think he’s the answer’

TERRY Bradshaw made a strong Cleveland Browns quarterback declaration on Fox NFL Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers legend let it be known what the Browns should be doing at the quarterback position on the Week 1 edition of the hit football pregame show.

Fox NFL Sunday previewed the slate of Week 1 games, including the Cincinnati Bengals-Browns division matchup.

Throughout the offseason, the Browns’ quarterback position became a discussion after the team signed veteran Joe Flacco, traded for Kenny Pickett, and drafted rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Cleveland ultimately opted to start Flacco in Week 1 and trade Pickett while keeping Gabriel and Sanders as backups.

However, Bradshaw doesn’t believe that the 40-year-old Flacco is the answer, and instead thinks the Browns should prioritize the third-round pick Gabriel.

“Cleveland are not happy. They got to go with Flacco, a 40-year-old quarterback. But since 1999, there have been 40 different starting quarterbacks in Cleveland. You show me a winning organization, I’ll show you a head coach who has a great quarterback,” Bradshaw said on Fox NFL Sunday.

“They don’t have that in Cleveland.

“I think Dillon Gabriel, the third-round pick out of Oregon, is the answer.

“Maybe I thought Pickett was – they moved him out to Las Vegas with the Raiders.

“Cleveland, Flacco, I like Flacco but look for Dillon to come in early.”

The Browns nearly defeated the Bengals but came up short, losing 17-16.

Flacco almost led Cleveland to a game-winning drive, but he threw an interception to DJ Turner, leading to Cincinnati’s victory.

The veteran completed 31 of 45 passes for 291 yards and one touchdown, but threw two interceptions in the contest.

The Browns didn’t receive any favors from their rookie kicker, Andre Szmyt, who missed an extra point and a potential go-ahead field goal in the second half of the loss.

Cleveland lost despite outgaining the Bengals 327-141 in total yards.
