Shrimad Ramayan actress Harleen Kaur Rekhi, who will soon be seen in Gaumata Kamdhenu on Hari Om, has been a part of the industry for over 14 years now and feels that every artist designs their own journey. However, she says it is a continuous learning process as one needs to keep working on their craft.
“I feel it is a personal journey for everyone. Each individual walks their own path, and it is always better not to compare your journey with someone else’s. That said, one thing I have truly understood over the past 14 years in this industry is that you have to continuously prove your mettle. That’s what keeps you consistent,” she said.
“One-time success or even two-time success does not guarantee a lifelong career. You have to keep proving yourself, act on your talent, and work on your skill—that’s what helps you shine every now and then,” she added.
Though she agrees about the struggle, she mentioned that it does get easier once one is established. “Once you are somewhat established, things do get easier—be it in terms of casting, remuneration, or continued work. It becomes smoother, yes. But the hustle for perfection, the drive to deliver your best—that never stops,” she said.
She further mentioned that each role comes with its own set of challenges and its own path to discovery. She said, “Some characters take more time to crack; they require research, emotional depth, and sometimes even transformation. But that’s the joy of it.”
“The roles I enjoy the most are the ones that push me, make me dig deeper, and go beyond the surface. In that process, you don’t just discover the character—you discover more about yourself. So no, it never truly feels easy. And honestly, I would not want it to either,” Harleen ended.
