The Summer I Turned Pretty sparks outrage after critical scene from book is cut out of TV finale

FANS of The Summer I Turned Pretty are outraged after a critical scene was cut out, which made for an ‘underwhelming’ finale.

The plot of The Summer I Turned Pretty centers around a love triangle between teenagers Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and brothers Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) – with the ending leaving viewers annoyed and begging for an additional episode.

Fans were outraged when Belly and Jeremiah were engaged to be married, but were overjoyed when their planned wedding was called off.

The wedding was called off when Jeremiah found out about Belly’s feelings for Conrad.

Many years later, Belly and Conrad get married – but this critical final scene was never shown.

Fans were left devastated after the scene was seemingly axed and no trace of nuptials could be seen.

Reacting to the finale, one person said, “A little disappointed that that’s all we got?

“After all this waiting, I liked the ending but I would have liked to see so much more. A little sloppy.”

Another asked, “No wedding what??”

“The episode was spectacularly underwhelming,” slammed a third.

“That was such a letdown for a finale. Who’s surprised though, not me,” said a fourth.

“The ending of TSITP was good…but my heart belongs to the book… I needed to see that wedding,” moaned a fifth.

A sixth said, “I thought the ending would be more epic. Where’s the final wedding scene and then Belly and Conrad on the beach???

“But oh well, in the end everything turned out fine and I have my endgame and I loved all their scenes.”

While a seventh added, “Well they better give us a bonus episode or bonus 10 minutes with at least Susannah’s letter to Belly.”

Although Belly ended up with Conrad, as per Jenny Han’s third book in the trilogy, the finale was very different to the tome.

Instead of the wedding that plays out in the final pages of the third book, the final scenes are a far cry.

The show instead followed Belly and Conrad as they drove to the Cousins beach house together.

Just were weeks ago, Gavin who plays the role of Jeremiah fled to Bali amid a massive amount of hate and backlash he was receiving because of his character.

Because of his role in the series, Gavin gets a substantial amount of hate online.

In late August he seemed to be brushing off the hate while holidaying in Bali with his wife Cheyanne.

“In Bali,” he captioned a post he shared on social media at the time.

He also shared a video of him and his wife Cheyanne frolicking around a picturesque location as they held hands and looked totally smitten.

Fans have been begging for another season following the finale
