A THREE-row SUV is nearing the end of its time in the US, as a car-making giant plans to discontinue it by 2026.
After a five-year run, the low-selling model will be effectively replaced by a new, all-electric three-row SUV – in what has been a brutal period for their range of gas-powered vehicles.

Cadillac’s handsome XT6 SUV, which went on sale in 2020, has reached the end of the road after just one generation – with the iconic US brand ramping up production of the electric three-row Vistiq in its place.
The marque has been phasing out several models in the US in recent times – with the axe already swung for the XT4 and reports claiming the XT5 is next.
In fact, according to Motor1, the XT6 will be gone by the end of the year – after just over 20,000 units were sold in 2024, which is less than the Escalade, Lyriq, XT5 and XT4 in sales rankings.
Their report suggests the SUV has struggled to gain traction since its launch and, with the upcoming release of new versions of the Escalade and the electric Escalade IQ, as well as the arrival of the Vistiq, Cadillac decided its days were numbered.
The XT6, which is manufactured at the Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee, shared its platform with the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, and filled a gap between the compact XT5 and the massive Escalade.
Its demise highlights Cadillac’s shift to electrification, with the Vistiq now positioned as a cornerstone of its future lineup.
Starting at nearly $80,000, the Vistiq boasts cutting-edge features – including Super Cruise hands-free driving, a panoramic sunroof, a 23-speaker AKG sound system and heated, ventilated and massaging seats.
What’s more, Cadillac is winding down production of other gas-powered SUVs.
The aforementioned XT4 SUV ended production in January, as sales ramped up for the electric Optiq crossover.
The aging XT5 will continue production at Spring Hill until the end of 2026, but the second-gen XT5 will only be sold in China.
Indeed, for now, the XT4, XT5 and XT6 will continue to be available in the Chinese market.
This comes as a lesser-known US car brand revealed a tech-packed minivan that boasts plenty of luxury.
The FX Super One, an electric MPV from Faraday Future – an EV brand based in Los Angeles, California – has been unveiled as part of the company’s new premium sub-brand, Faraday X.
Packed with futuristic features, its most striking innovation is the F.A.C.E., which stands for Front AI Communication Ecosystem.
This system is essentially able to transform the vehicle’s front grille into an interactive, AI-powered digital billboard.
It can display visual cues, messages and even reactive animations – and has the ability to respond to voice commands.
Essentially, it acts as a way for drivers to communicate with the outside world by displaying moods, patterns, or messages.
It also offers advanced tech like driver assistance systems powered by LiDAR – Light Detection and Ranging – a technology that uses laser pulses to measure distances and create highly accurate 3D maps of surroundings.
There’s also luxury interior options, with two or three rows of seats for four, six, or seven people that all get to enjoy foldable tray tables, a 17.3-inch entertainment screen, a slide-out fridge drawer, moonroof controls and zero-gravity captain’s chairs with full recline.
