Kelce, 35, landed a role in the sequel as part of his move into acting.

But the Chiefs player is still busy with his football career and juggling a hectic schedule.

Kansas City Chiefs players are due back for training camp this week ahead of the 2025 season.

And Kelce opted to miss the premiere in New York, which was attended by a star-studded cast.

Lead actor Adam Sandler was on the red carpet beforehand.

And he paid a huge compliment to Kelce as well as Bad Bunny, who also had a role in the film.

“They were both so confident and so funny,” Sandler told The Hollywood Reporter.

“They’re gonna go on and do whatever the hell they want.

“But I’d love to do something with them again, because I got very friendly with them.

“I love them both.”

Kelce has already starred in FX series Grotesquerie.

He has also hosted television shows such as Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?

The role in Happy Gilmore 2 is his first major role in a film.

The 35-year-old also has a hugely successful podcast with his brother Jason.

But New Heights will also go on a hiatus after this week as Kelce focuses on football.

Newly-crowned Open champion Scottie Scheffler was in attendance for the premiere.

He brought his Claret Jug trophy along, fresh from his victory in Northern Ireland on Sunday.

John Cena and Nikki Garcia were also at the event, as was golf icon John Daly.

Happy Gilmore 2 is released on Netflix this week.
