Travis Kelce needs to wake up and reconnect with Patrick Mahomes to compete in Super Bowl rematch

THE Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are facing off in a Super Bowl rematch this weekend.

The two NFL juggernauts are going toe to toe in a new season, with the Chiefs looking to reestablish themselves as the top squad in the league.

However, it was the Eagles that came out on top in the Super Bowl, and they started their season 1-0 after taking down the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, are coming into the Super Bowl rematch 0-1 after taking a loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil.

Kansas City will host Philadelphia at Arrowhead Stadium, but will that be enough of an advantage to get past the Eagles?

That answer and more has been answered on the latest episode of The U.S. SunSport’s Ain’t That Our Ball show.

PATRICK MAHOMES VS JALEN HURTS

Mahomes is the better quarterback in this matchup, according to Ryan Sanudo[/caption]

With the Super Bowl rematch comes a matchup between two of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

Both Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts are Super Bowl MVPs, but football expert Ryan Sanudo believes Mahomes has the leg up.

“I’m gonna give it (the edge) to Patrick Mahomes here,” Sanudo said.

“The guy only has three Super Bowl MVPs, two MVPs of the regular season.”

According to Sanudo, it is Mahomes’ passing ability that gives him the edge.

“His arm is better than Hurts’,” Sanudo continued.

“He can run too, that’s an underrated aspect of his.”

Host David Scott acknowledged Mahomes’ passing advantage, but also revealed a scenario where Hurts takes a big step forward.

“I think Hurts could elevate his game a lot if he started throwing the ball downfield more,” he said.

“If Hurts gets the ball downfield further, you could see him in the upper echelon of quarterbacks.”

WIDE RECEIVER CHAOS

Graphic of A.J. Brown's Week 1 stats against the Dallas Cowboys: 1 target, 1 reception, 8 yards, 0 touchdowns.

Both teams are facing uncertainty with their wide receiver rooms.

The Chiefs will likely be without Xavier Worthy due to an injury and Rashee Rice is out until Week 7 due to a suspension.

At the same time AJ Brown of the Eagles made no impact last week, but Sanudo believes that won’t last long.

“His talent speaks for itself,” Sanudo said.

“We know what he’s capable of. I expect five, six catches against the Chiefs defense.”

While the Eagles look to get improved production out of Brown, the Chiefs need their backups to step up.

Names like Marquise Brown, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Tyquan Thornton have to be productive in order to get a win.

JALEN CARTER’S RETURN

After spitting on opposing quarterback Dak Prescott in Week 1, Jalen Carter was ejected and missed all of the Eagles‘ opening game.

Since he was ejected so early, the NFL considered it time served and Carter won’t miss any extra time due to a suspension.

That means he will be on the field, hungry to hit Mahomes in the Super Bowl rematch.

“I expect one sack coming out of Jalen Carter,” Sanudo said.

“If he gets early production in this game, then there’s double teams, then other guys can get to Mahomes.”

SUPER BOWL REMATCH

In February, the Eagles took down the Chiefs 40-22.

This time around, Sanudo and Scott think it will be much closer.

“I think it’s gonna be a lesser score,” Sanudo said.

Scott shared a tactic that he thinks could help the Chiefs stop the Eagles from scoring so much.

“I think the Chiefs are going to learn some lessons from that Super Bowl matchup,” Scott said.

“Saquon Barkley was kind of held in check in that Super Bowl. Obviously he still got his work done, but I think the Chiefs need to let him run a little bit.

“He’s going to get his action… let him have it. They focused a little too much on him and let the receivers go wild.”

SCORE PREDICTIONS

Both of our experts have the Eagles coming out on top once again in the Super Bowl matchup.

Sanudo revealed the seven of the last nine Super Bowl winners have won the rematch game.

He sees that trend continuing with the Eagles winning 24-21 against the Chiefs on Sunday.

Scott followed the same though process, just with a bit wider of a score margin.

He predicts the Eagles to take down the Chiefs 27-20.
