And head coach Andy Reid has made a clear statement that his starters will all have a part to play, more than likely from the off.
Patrick Mahomes is a certainty to go in at quarterback, along with a number of other stars of their positions.
However, it’s yet to be confirmed whether Kelce will be a starter for the Chiefs in 2025, or have more of a role off the bench.
The 35-year-old spent time off the field last year as his stats plummeted.
It was one of his worst campaigns since his rookie year in the NFL.
He decided to return for what is expected to be his last year in 2025.
Reid is keen for him to be part of the offense, whilst also helping out with guiding his younger players.
And that could mean time on the bench, behind their other tight end Noah Gray.
The Chiefs head coach spoke to the media on Monday where he made his starters declaration.
“They’ll start it off, for sure,” said Reid.
“Then we’ll see how it goes from there.”
Reid had some of his starters in from the off last week.
That included the team’s offensive line as they look for cohesion.
They played alongside backup quarterback Gardner Minshew.
However, Mahomes did get three reps during a 20-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
