Tua Tagovailoa in awkward exchange after being asked question about his performance following Dolphins disaster at Colts

TUA Tagovailoa faced difficult questions after the Miami Dolphins’ 33-8 loss against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Tagovailoa was seemingly stumped during the post-game press conference as he was questioned about the frequency of his turnovers.

He conceded two interceptions and a fumble as the Dolphins were held scoreless until deep into the fourth quarter.

“I wouldn’t say I am pressing. It’s a part of the game,” said Tagovailoa.

“Like, you obviously don’t want to turn it over. I thought that was a wild comment.”

Star running back Jaylen Wright was ruled out of action just days before the start of the season, forcing Tagovailoa to pass more.

“That I turn the ball over in bunches? That is crazy,” added Tagovailoa.

“It just so happened that is what happened today. It was what it was.”

The quarterback made just 114 yards throughout the contest as his errors compounded to deny the Dolphins an attacking platform.

It is the seventh time since 2020 that Tagovailoa has conceded three turnovers in a game.

This is the second-worst in the NFL, only behind the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ Trevor Lawrence, 25.

“You’ve got to move forward from that. Can’t make the same mistakes and move on from that,” said Tagovailoa.

Suggestions are mounting that Tagovailoa could be dropped for their next hit out.

Zach Wilson is expected to take Tagovailoa’s place in the starting line-up.

The 26-year-old made no appearances for the Denver Broncos last season before arriving in Miami.

Elsewhere, high hopes have been placed on rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers, 22.

Tagovailoa’s mistake-strewn season-opener has placed doubt over his future in Miami after five seasons as a starter.

His performance against the Colts has been made to look particularly when compared to his opposite man.

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones has made NFL history by breaking a 48-year-old record.

The Colts became the first team since 1977 to score with every possession.

Head coach Mike McDaniel will look to make appropriate changes as the Dolphins hope to avoid a troubled season.

Tagovailoa will hope to make a statement in practise so that he can remain at quarterback against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
