TV viewers were left enraged when they saw another sport being broadcast over a major MLB program.
ESPN failed to show the first 10 minutes of the MLB All-Star Selection Show.

The selection show was set to begin at 5:00 pm ET on Sunday afternoon.
MLB fans were ready to learn which players were selected for the 2025 All-Star Game in Atlanta.
Instead, fans tuned in to watch professional cornhole for about 10 minutes.
It was the Camping World Pro Tour’s Pro Doubles Final and featured a matchup in which Tony Smith and Mark Richards beat Cheyenne Bubenheim and Jordan Power.
While it’s not uncommon that live sports overruns interfere with programming, MLB fans were still annoyed that cornhole pushed back the program.
“ESPN is bumping/delaying the MLB All Star Selection Show for Cornhole?????????? You can not hate @espn enough,” one wrote.
“Unbelievable,” a second said.
“ESPN playing Cornhole over the MLB All-Star Selection Show. Get the TV rights away from this godforsaken company immediately, man,” a third added.
The third comment referred to ESPN’s TV contract with the MLB.
Before the 2025 season, the two networks mutually agreed to opt out of their rights deal three years early.
The decision left the MLB without its usual $550 million payday per year.
But ESPN and MLB’s relationship has seemingly improved as recent reports indicate that the two sides are in “early stages” of negotiating a new deal for next season.
