Under-pressure Brian Callahan forced to make difficult Titans coaching decision as fans call for him to be fired

TENNESSEE Titans second-year coach Brian Callahan has been forced to make a tough decision while fans call for him to lose his job.

Callahan and the Titans are at a brutal 0-3 with 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward at quarterback.

Tennessee has lost to the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, and, most recently, the Indianapolis Colts.

The Titans once again struggled on offense in their latest contest, which saw them lose 41-20.

The offensive-minded Callahan has had a horrific start to the season, and pressure has forced him to make a change to the team.

Callahan has relinquished his play-calling duties and handed them to his quarterbacks coach, Bo Hardegree.

The decision came a day after Titans fans chanted “Fire Callahan” during the team’s loss to their division rival.

After the game, Callahan answered a question about his job security during a press conference.

The former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator said he doesn’t think about his job security and is only looking to put the Titans in the best possible position.

“The rest of that stuff is what it is,” Callahan said.

“I don´t think about those things. You really can´t.

“This is hard enough as it is to put those other things and think about that, it doesn´t do anybody any good.

“So, I just go to work and work as hard as I can. I put as much effort as I can into this.”

Callahan has a disappointing 3-17 record since being named the Titans’ coach in 2024.

The 41-year-old has lost nine straight games going back to last campaign.

Callahan once again cost his team points due to his play-calling before halftime.

Kicker Joey Slye proceeded to see his 62-yard attempt blocked, and the Colts used the final 37 seconds to convert another field goal to hand them a 20-6 halftime lead.

Callahan shared he was torn over trying to go for it or kicking the field goal.

He chose the latter option, with Slye entering Sunday 8-of-8, but “the operational part of it to kick it on time didn’t happen.”

The boo birds rang loud as the Titans entered the locker room.

Fortunately for Callahan, he won’t have to hear the jeers at Nissan Stadium with the next three games on the road.
