Good morning KELOLAND! We are tracking areas of fog this morning. You can see some of that in this picture from Pierre taken earlier this morning.

Scattered showers and t-storms crossed parts of KELOLAND yesterday. Here are the official 24 hour rainfall numbers. Keep in mind many of the thunderstorms missed the official reporting stations listed on the map below.

The 3 day rain totals have been over 3″ west of Pierre. You can see that orange and red shaded area on the map below. The blocking high pressure ridge over MN really limited the coverage of rainfall the farther east you live.

That low pressure center is still close enough to eastern KELOLAND to keep a few widely scattered showers in the forecast this afternoon and this evening.
New thunderstorms are possible tomorrow late in the afternoon and evening. There is a marginal risk of severe weather across our eastern counties into central MN.

Here’s a closer look at Futurecast. Temperatures will stay in the 70s in much of KELOLAND today with the areas of clouds and widely scattered showers late in the day east of I-29. Tomorrow, warmer weather is likely with highs soaring into the 80s in many areas. A strong cold front late in the day will trigger scattered storms across the northeast. Additional areas of showers are possible on Wednesday as cooler north winds give us big taste of fall-like weather. Highs will likely stay in the 60s for most areas East River. Thursday could bounce back ahead of the second cold front for Friday. Much cooler weather is again likely to start the weekend.
You can see the cool weather trends on the map below.

Here are the details of the forecast.
