A US politician who livestreamed sex videos with her husband for cash has been arrested over domestic violence.
Susanna Gibson Payne, 42 and a former Democratic candidate for the Virginia state legislature, was arrested for “assault and battery – family member”.

She was released after she turned herself in, according to a report by the New York Post.
Gibson said the arrest was a result of a false report from her now-estranged spouse.
She claimed her lawyer husband, John David Gibson, is the one harassing her over their divorce.
She also alleged that David got aggressive with her.
Gibson told the media outlet: “After my estranged husband, arrested three times since I filed for divorce, assaulted me during a June 2025 custody exchange while I protected our son, he filed a retaliatory criminal complaint against me.
“More than three months later, police issued a misdemeanour warrant for my arrest. I turned myself in immediately.”
Arrest records show John Gibson was arrested several times last December for violation of a protective order, extortion and use of threatening language.
Those arrests happened just days after his wife requested a protective order against him for “family abuse,” which was granted the following month, records show.
In 2023, Gibson performed sex acts with her husband for a live online audience and encouraged viewers to pay them with “tips” for specific requests.
In at least two videos, she was seen telling viewers she is “raising money for a good cause”.
She urged viewers to provide tips paid through “tokens” purchased through the site.
In at least two videos, she agreed to perform certain acts only in a “private room,” an arrangement that requires the viewer to pay more.
She was heard saying: “I need, like, more tokens before I let him do that,” she responds to a request that they perform a certain act.
“One token, no. More. Raising money for a good cause.”
Gibson admitted she was “naive” – and said she knew nothing about pornography.
She said she believed her husband when he asked her to allow a small number of people to watch them having sex online.
She told Virginia Radio IQ: “This was his fantasy.
“He had done all this research, apparently. This site was safe, so he wanted essentially a safe way for someone to do that was to livestream.
“I did it a few times. It wasn’t for me, and I told him, and that was that.”
