But now, one of them is going up for sale for an eye-popping $4.7 million.
To be sold by RM Sotheby’s, a renowned auction house, in Monterey, California, this Saturday, August 16, the listing claims this special Ferrari has been meticulously preserved in “time capsule” condition – with just 54 miles on the clock.
The LaFerrari, Ferrari’s first hybrid hypercar, is celebrated by enthusiasts for its innovative design, cutting-edge technology and breathtaking performance.
It can accelerate from 0 to 124 mph in under seven seconds and has a top speed exceeding 217 mph.
It also boasts advanced active aerodynamics, including a rear wing and front and rear diffusers which optimize downforce and minimize drag.
Indeed, it is widely regarded as one of the greatest Ferraris ever made.
This example is naturally finished in Ferrari’s signature Rosso Corsa red and features a luxurious Nero and Rosso leather interior – including an Alcantara trim.
The car also boasts over $36,000 worth of factory options, including Scuderia fender shields, carbon fiber detailing, anti-stone chipping film and a sport exhaust.
Curiously, the underside of the front boot lid is signed by the Ferrari team members who built the car, which adds a personal and collectible touch.
But perhaps its best feature is its pristine condition, as a result of being stored in a climate-controlled environment since delivery.
In fact, it has never been driven on public roads.
Furthermore, Ferrari-certified technicians have performed all maintenance, including a main battery replacement in 2018.
For those still not certain they want to part with their cash for the flashy vehicle, it even comes with additional accessories such as Schedoni luggage, custom floor mats and the owner’s books.
With just 499 LaFerraris ever produced, ownership is wildly exclusive.
Famous owners of the showpiece set of wheels include the aforementioned Johnson and Ramsay, as well as soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, musicians Travis Scott and Drake.
Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton and professional golfer Ian Poulter are also known to own LaFerraris.
Elsewhere, the iconic Italian marque is edging closer to releasing its first-ever EV – with them recently announcing the release date for its all-electric sports car.
Plans for the car have been in motion for some time, and its development has been progressing steadily behind the scenes – with them remaining tight-lipped about most of the key details.
Fans will get their first glimpse of the car’s drivetrain – or, “technological heart”, as Ferrari have dubbed it – on October 9 as the first part of a three-stage unveiling process.
This will seemingly culminate in a world premiere in the spring of next year.
Earlier this year, Benedetto Vigna, Ferrari’s CEO, told analysts in a post-earnings call: “Deliveries… will commence just months after that, in October 2026.”
