VERIZON customers are being caught by surprise.
An alarming email is making its way to customer inboxes, and it’s having some users considering switching carriers.

One Reddit user posted about receiving an email which read, “We are writing to let you know that a discount on your account will soon end.”
“This discount will be removed no sooner than September 1, 2025,” the message continued.
So what’s on the chopping block?
It appears Verizon is pulling the plug on its loyalty programs.
“They’re ending loyalty discounts, which was the only thing keeping me with Verizon,” one Redditor responded.
“Guess I’m gonna port out,” the poster added.
Another replied: “Loyalty discount I had on my account, plus the $10 off per line for 12 months were literally the ONLY thing holding me back from porting.”
“Cool guess this will be my last billing cycle with them,” the poster added.
One frustrated user pointed out: “So they give everyone loyalty discounts to take them away 2 months later?”
MIXED IMPACTS
The end to loyalty programs would affect customers differently, depending on what they signed up for.
But these discounts vary from $10 to $25 per line, according to a report by WCCFTech.com.
For some customers, that can translate to an annual increase of $240 to more than $1,000.
And that’s not all.
PRICES SURGE
Some customers are reporting increases to tablet lines.
“Got this email informing my Tablet prices on my 3 year price protected Ultimate Ultimate Plan are being raised 5 bucks a month,” one Redditor posted.
“And now just got the email about my 4 tablet lines price increasing,” another wrote.
The move comes a few months after the carrier quietly increased the prices on its multi-device plan.
But Verizon isn’t the only major mobile service provider raising costs.
AT&T and T-Mobile have recently increased prices through hidden fees and shrinking discounts.
