The news was broken to the customer over email, revealing to them that their loyalty discounts would be discontinued, meaning the bill would increase by $70.
They said: “Just got sent an email it seems many of you got as well, that my loyalty discount of $20 and $10 per line are being discontinued Sep. 1.
“And they still have no plans to change this?”
In the comments of the post, many took the time to share their Verizon price rise stories, as well as vent about the company.
One person wrote: “Very much two Verizon personalities.
“You get a CEO email saying they are listening to customers and ‘doing better’ and ‘raising the bar’.
“Then about a week later you get a message saying they are raising prices again.
“It’s like Verizon doesn’t even know what to do with itself.”
Another added: “This whole 3 year price guarantee is such a crock.
“Only lock is on the phone plans didn’t mention anything about fees and connected devices.
“What a joke. This is coming from a former 10yr retail employee.”
And a third said: “I had to change my plans because my “old” plan from 2023? was no longer eligible to keep autopay discounts of $10/line.
“So really they are raising prices on plans, as new ones dropped a ton of perks in order to keep the auto pay discount.
“They are raising prices from plans to fees and dropping discounts.”
The US Sun has contacted Verizon for comment on the price hikes, but did not hear back right away.
VERIZON PRICE HIKES
Costs at Verizon have increased for many customers and have mainly impacted a certain group.
The price hikes have mainly affected those with five or more lines on select plans.
Those using the New Verizon Plans, which are no longer available, have also seen price hikes.
Back in February, customers using myPlan accounts at Verizon with five or more lines saw a monthly $3 per line increase.
If you had a multi-phone line account, your rate went up $15 every month.
Your data fees also increased from $15 to $20 per gigabyte.
In a statement, Verizon said: “We can confirm we’ve adjusted pricing on some mobile plans for select customers.
“Verizon is committed to delivering unparalleled network reliability, experiences and choices our customers love and expect.
“These price adjustments allow us to continue to provide our customers top-tier products and services, with a focus on ultra-reliable connectivity.”
