Veteran radio host Michelle Beadle launches astonishing live on-air rant after SiriusXM job is taken by Stephen A. Smith

RADIO host Michelle Beadle has produced an extraordinary rant after Stephen A. Smith replaced her on SiriusXM.

The 49-year-old and co-host Cody Decker already knew they were on their way out of the station.

But Beadle and Decker were unaware they would be replaced by ESPN’s $100million man Smith.

Stephen A. is set to present two shows on SiriusXM alongside his lucrative new deal with the sports network.

And Beadle was not impressed, demanding she be “treated with respect”.

“Yeah so the cat’s out of the bag, I guess we’re talking about it,” Beadle said on Wednesday’s Beadle & Decker.

“We weren’t supposed to, just as a heads up. We were only given a few hours’ notice, but we weren’t told any details, we were promised that no details would be released.

“We didn’t even know who was taking our place in the lineup, just that it was going to be announced that a new show was being added.

“Unbeknownst to us, The Hollywood Reporter of course, had all the details.

“So it was a little embarrassing, I’m not going to lie.

“I’ve been in this business for 20-plus years, I’ve been treated poorly a couple times, this didn’t feel good, I’m not gonna lie.”

Beadle – who formerly worked alongside Stephen A. at ESPN – admitted she had been “blind-sided” by the move.

She continued: “The Hollywood Reporter comes out – and there’s [Smith’s] face.

“I was like, I should have known. That was just kind of gross. I don’t care that we’re being replaced or what have you.

“It happens all the time. But a little respect would have been nice.

“Good Lord. I was totally blindsided. Just really embarrassed, to be honest.”

Stephen A. will link up with First Take analyst Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo on the station.

He will begin presenting on SiriusXM in the autumn.

Smith said: “September can’t come soon enough.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in radio… especially going back and forth with the callers.

“Can’t wait to get re-started. Buckle up! I’m coming!”
