A WALGREENS employee has revealed the “ridiculous” price change on a bag of baby wipes.
The unpredictable pricing at Walgreens was slammed online, and the employee said that the markup won’t last.

On the social media platform Reddit, one eagle-eyed shopper shared the price rise for a packet of flushable toddler wipes.
The bag had shot up from $2.99 to $8.49, something that the user called both “ridiculous” and “diabolical” in their initial post.
In the comments, one person who is seemingly an employee underlined how unpredictable the pricing at Walgreens can be.
They wrote: “Don’t worry they will fix it in 2 days and then we have more work to replace their screw up.
“Rinse and repeat till the end of time.
“So many man hours are wasted each year because of mistakes out of the stores control.”
Many stores have seen items rise drastically in price, which caused shoppers to scratch their heads and check their wallets.
In May, a Target employee shared online that the price of a USB-C cord had jumped from $9.99 to $17.99, representing a markup of 80%
The cord was a part of Target‘s Heyday brand, and the increase led many to think that other Heyday products would shoot up in price.
One shopper shared that this price rise would make them think twice about going to shop at Target.
They wrote online: “I’m kinda scared to do back to school shopping in July and August.”
WALGREENS WOES
Walgreens has experienced a slew of closures so far this year, and recently announced that another 1,200 would be getting the axe.
One of the most recent closures occurred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 21.
The front end of the store is set to remain open for an undisclosed amount of time.

Another Walgreens closure in Milwaukee took place on July 1, but one section remained open until July 28.
In downtown Milwaukee, a store located at 819 Memorial Drive in Racine closed down every section on August 5.
This meant that customers at those Walgreens locations had their prescriptions transferred to their next nearest spot.
This happened automatically, and came with a free 90-day delivery service to make up for the inconvenience.
In a statement to the Milwaukee Journal, the company shared its regrets over the closures.
Walgreens said: “It is never an easy decision to close a store, and we know how important they are to the communities we serve and therefore do everything possible to improve their performance.”
