A FRUSTRATED shopper has called out Walmart after spotting a mystery fee for their online order.
The added surcharge totaled more than $50 and left them demanding assistance from the retail giant.

A charge for $51.07 was allegedly incorrect[/caption]
“@Walmart are you in the habit of stealing my money and giving a driver a $50 tip?” the consumer, Nick, questioned in an X post.
Nick took a screenshot of his online order and included it, showing an initial grand total of $528.24 after about $3.12 in savings.
Since the order was well over $35, he got free delivery from his nearest Walmart store, but there was just a $3 charge for getting it at home in under 3 hours and then tax of $2.91.
That would’ve brought the final amount $534.15, but it instead rang up at $585.22.
Marked just above the amount was a “driver tip” worth $51.07, something Nick claimed he never approved.
Walmart quickly responded to his claim on Monday, requesting more information.
“Thank you for brining this to our attention. Please send us a DM, so we can look into this for you,” the retailer replied.
It’s unclear if Nick did reach out through a private message.
The US Sun has contacted Walmart for more information.
LOCATION FEE?
Either way, this isn’t the first time that a customer at the retail giant has been stunned by an unexpected charge in recent months.
In August, a longtime Walmart shopper took to Facebook, showing a receipt where they were charged an extra $120.49 as part of a “location surcharge.”
“Walmart buyers beware! Just went to place a small order and was hit with a ‘location surcharge,’” the customer, Debra, fumed.
“$38 order and $120 surcharge!!!!”
It left their total grocery bill at a shocking $158.21 instead of around $40.

Debra wasn’t alone either, as another customer on X questioned the retail giant about the same thing.
“@Walmart what is this location surcharge?!?” they asked.
“1. I am a Walmart Plus member? 2. All my items is being sent directly from Walmart, no third party seller.”
While Walmart hasn’t responded to either customer, some have claimed the retailer is “adding a location surcharge for US territories.”
REASONING EXPLAINED
This is also explained on Walmart’s website in detail.
“Hawaii, Alaska, US Territories, and Overseas Locations: Items that Walmart sells and ships have added shipping fees when we ship to these locations,” it reads.
“You can check the shipping fees for the item by adding it to the cart. There will be a separate line in the Payments section for this fee.”
This likely accounts for the unexpected added costs, but some have decided that it still “makes orders untenable” and leaves them opting for Amazon and other competitors instead.
Walmart also left shoppers fuming over “ridiculous” self-checkout change at select stores recently, and some even abandoned their carts with hundreds of dollars of groceries.
The retail giant additionally confirmed a new “tag” policy that means prices won’t be individually shown on all items.
