Walmart confirms it will not close down all 4,606 locations in days – but Costco shoppers face inconvenient shutters

WALMART has confirmed that it will not close down any of its 4,606 locations for an upcoming holiday.

Labor Day is coming up on September 1, a holiday to celebrate the workforce across the country.

Costco has confirmed that it will be shutting down all of its warehouses very soon for a whole day[/caption]

Some retailers are running on limited hours, however, and others are rewarding their members with exclusive shopping times.

As one of the 11 federally recognized holidays, it does mean that many major retailers will be closed or running reduced hours.

But Walmart has confirmed that it is sticking around for Labor Day, but with a slight tweak.

With limited hours, it’s best to check your local spot using the store locator.

Normal Walmart hours run from 6:00am to 11:00pm.

Other retailers remaining open on Labor Day include Target, Kohl’s, BJ’s and Sam’s Club.

Target will generally observe its typical business hours on Labor Day, but it is wise to double check.

Like Walmart, Kohl’s will generally be open as normal on September 1, but some will observe altered hours for the holiday.

You can check your local Kohl’s using the store locator.

BJ’s will keep normal opening hours on Labor Day, but again, it wouldn’t hurt to double check with your local store.

But Sam’s Club will be doing something a bit different on Labor Day.

The store will make use of its membership tiers to decide how long shoppers can be in store on Labor Day.

Those with a Plus membership will be able to shop in-store from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Club members won’t be able to access the store until 10:00am through to 6:00pm.

COSTCO CLOSED

But shoppers need to be aware that Costco will be shutting all of its warehouses in the US for Labor Day.

Those looking to go to Costco on September 1 will not be able to, and should work around the holiday.

On top of this, major banks across the country will be closed, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Chase Bank.

This means that transactions will not be processed until the following day, and the same goes for scheduled ones.

You will not be able to speak to a bank teller, but ATMs and online banking services should be operating as normal.

If you need to pay something on September 1, it should not be a problem if the payment comes through the day after as long as it was not paid late.
