People have left five-star reviews on the Walmart website[/caption]
While the device was originally aimed for kids, adults have been left desperate to snap up the nostalgic toy as it’s taking them back to the ‘good old days’ in 1997.
However, there is also a dupe version, called a Digital Pet, being sold at Dollar Tree, if you are on a budget.
But if you are looking for the real deal, Walmart’s Tamagotchi has the original generation 2 programming, which lets you virtually take care of your “pet.”
The Walmart description reads: “Feed it, turn lights on/off, play with it, give it medicine, flush after it’s used the bathroom, check its health and discipline your Tamagotchi if he bothers you when he’s happy, fed and all cleaned up.
“How you take care of your Tamagotchi and how you do in the game, determines which Adult Tamagotchi you’ll get!”
It also has a fun feature – the Number game – where you have to guess whether the next number will be higher or lower.
Numerous people have left glowing five-star reviews of the toy on Walmart’s website, with one saying: “Very adorable, nostalgic. I highly recommend it.”
Others said they had bought it for their own kids to continue the love.
Another added: “I loved these when I was a kid and just had to get them for my girls, so easy to play and fun and teaches you to take care of your animals.
“My girls love them.”

Dollar Tree’s latest nostalgic buy also has 90s kids in a frenzy[/caption]
It seems that many people are eager to get their hands on the toy as one took to the comments of Kimberly’s TikTok video asking about it.
They said: “I’ve been on the hunt but no luck yet. Where in store did you find this?”
If you’ve been scanning the shelves up and down like this eager shopper you won’t have spotted it.
The toy is currently being stocked near the checkout line, so you’ll have to head there to grab it.

Their Digital Pet comes with over 100 characters to play with[/caption]
The toy can be set up to have over 100 different animals.
One person wrote: “As a kid when I was too poor for a name brand Tamagotchi, I bought one called dino egg (not dinkie dino) from the dollar store. Very fond memories with it, and led me to collect ‘real’ tamas as an adult.”
Another commented: “I have this. I love it. I think it has a Spongebob and Patrick tama??? Not sure.”
Meanwhile a third said: “I’m so bummed about these. They were bought in bulk at every local location, and scalped online.
“I was able to snag a few, and gave them to kids that were in my section. For a brief moment I was the coolest waitress ever.”
