Walmart shopper blasts chain after mystery $26 charge added to receipt – and it’s happened FIVE other times

A WALMART shopper has blasted the chain after a mystery $26 charge was added to their receipt – and it’s happened five other times.

The baffled customer took to social media to share the bizarre receipt addition, claiming it “doesn’t make sense”.

The story was shared on Facebook, recounting the costly experience that was only solved after a thorough check.

In the end, the shopper had to take the time to go to customer service, and it’s still not made clear what the charge was for.

The post says: “I was reviewing my receipt, wondering what I bought. I’m sure you know the feeling.

“But I found a charge on my receipt for something I didn’t purchase; the descriptor said 20×30 (what’s that?).

“I was randomly charged $26.00. It took a bit, but customer service tried to figure it out, and I was reimbursed for the amount.”

They then went onto reveal that this damning mistake happens more than it should.

The post continued: “This is not the first time this has happened.

“It has happened in our household at least five times now; the line item is generally for something that doesn’t make sense.

“I’m sharing to make you aware.

“I know every dollar counts, and we don’t want to just give away our hard-earned money to Walmart.”

COMMENT CONFUSION

In the comments of the post, many were left equally confused over the mystery charge.

One person said: “Gosh! I will have to start checking my receipts to.”

And another wrote: “Wow! Thanks for sharing your post with us now I’ll be checking my receipts now.”

One comment even revealed a similar experience that happened at another Walmart.

The US Sun has reached out to Walmart for comment, but did not hear back right away.

Another customer recently shared an overcharge story, as she was billed about $24 for an emoji-themed sheet she hadn’t purchased.

In this case, all the Walmart employee could say is that the machines do “crazy things”.

Walmart has faced legal action in the past for its checkout glitches.

The retailer has previously been forced to pay out $45 million to settle a class action in Florida.

It was alleged that Walmart overcharged shoppers for bags of citrus fruits and some meat.

Walmart did not admit any wrongdoing in the case.
