They have taken to social media to vent their frustration at eye-watering prices flagged by fellow users.

An X account called Pokemon Alerts & News shared a screenshot of a purchase, claiming that someone was “able to set today’s drop at Walmart to a limit of 99 for the 151 bundles”.

The image suggested that the mystery customer had paid more than $5,000 for the products.

That the store would place such a high limit on a limited bundle was met with furious reactions from fellow customers.

User Matt Mitchell posted: “We were all on board with Walmart Pokemon drops because you had the best anti-bot system early on and now it’s a slap in the face letting scalpers clear all of your product to sell for twice as much.”

Chantelle McLean questioned why they were “paying for a Walmart+ membership” when this was allowed to happen.

They suggested: “Cancel all orders over 12 and let the rest of us have a chance to get some.”

Another user wrote: “Walmart allowing huge order limit on Pokemon 151 bundles is crazy… do better.”

“Horrible job with the Pokemon drop for this today (yesterday was horrible too),” another posted.

“Was really looking forward. Just canceled my membership.”

Walmart is not the only retailer to have faced customers’ wrath in recent days.

Kroger shoppers have blasted the grocery chain in scathing complaints about its food delivery service.

They have complained of missed delivery times and forgotten items in their posts.

Others slammed the chain’s customer service department, accusing them of being unhelpful when raising complaints.

One user posted on X: “I’ve been waiting for my 11-Noon delivery for over six hours now.

“Called Customer Service three times and each time they lied to me indicating I was the next stop and it should only be 20 minutes.”
