Right now, you can get pens, pencils, notebooks and other essentials for under $1.

On the social media platform Facebook, one discount shopper found the best place to shop for back to school deals.
The caption of the clip reads: “Find these back to school deals at Walmart instead of Dollar Tree.
“These back to school supplies are all $1 and under! Stock up!”
In a video, they showed off several amazing deals at Walmart, starting at $0.45 for a notebook to write in.
The clip only shows green and blue ones at this price, but there could be more colors.
For $0.50, you can score a Composition Book filled with 80 sheets of paper.
But with any good notebook, you need something to write with.
Walmart is selling a pack of 12 sharpened wood pencils for $0.49, along with many other kinds of writing tools at a similar price.
You can get black, blue or red BiC pens in packs of 10 for $0.97, and a multi pack of 12 colored Crayola pencils at $0.97 as well.
You can save money on these by springing for a $0.50 12-pack from brand Pen Gear.
Rounding out the school accessories are things like sticky notes and rulers.
At Walmart, you can get a pack of 100 sticky notes for $0.67, or if you prefer something more glamorous, a pack of Post-its for $1, and a ruler for the same price.
TARGET SALES
Over at Walmart‘s rival Target, more back to school savings can be found.
Throughout the end of July and August, key back to school items including its popular list of 20 must-have supplies, which add up to a total of less than $20.

Over 1,000 back to school items are priced at $5 and under, and start from just $0.25.
For example, you can get a $5 backpack, $2 water bottle and a $5 pair of wire headphones.
There’s also new items, like composition books from $0.50 and lunch sacks at $3.
Teachers haven’t been forgotten though, with essentials like storage bins, dry erase markers and classroom décor from only $3.50.
