Abhishek Verma, who plays the role of Shaurya Sinha in Sony SAB’s Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil is grateful that he has got an onscreen family that showers the same love that he gets at his house. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan today (9 August), he talks about the significance of the festival and also about the special brotherly bond he shares with his co-actors.
Says Abhishek, “Raksha Bandhan is a special festival, more than Holi and Diwali. The feeling of having a sister is beautiful. I feel blessed that I have an elder sister. I share a special bond with my sister. She has supported and guided me all my life. A big credit goes to her in making me a better person.”
Ask Abhishek about the sibling bond in his show Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil and he says, “Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, the title in itself, explains that the tale is a beautiful, emotional show of a family. I have been in a boarding school since childhood. Hence, I have missed out on the bond between siblings. Honestly, I am grateful that I got this opportunity through this show, where I get to work with happy people. We joke, pull each other’s legs and stay happy when we are not shooting.”
He explains his bond with Devish Ahuja and Vansh Sayani, saying, “I have a younger brother in real life, and on the set, it is a bonus that I have got two younger brothers. We feel at home when we are together on the set. On off days, we cycle, go for day trips, etc.”
Ask him whether he has made sisterly bonds in the industry, and he says, “I have huge respect for all the women I have worked with. But I have not developed sisterly bonds with any. Protection is always there, and I have always been there when they have wanted help. Having said this, I have brotherly bonds with many in the industry.”
On his amazing rapport with Shabir Ahluwalia, Abhishek avers, “Shabir Bhai and I are like brothers in real life. He is a calm and composed guy. He is always there for me. The way he makes the other person understand things gives me a warm brotherly feeling. Onscreen, we are getting angry at each other as of now, but we shower love on each other off the screen. Our bond has gotten stronger with time.”
Lastly, on his role and its graph, Abhishek states, “It is amazing to be playing Shaurya in the show. I was a fun-loving boy earlier. But now, the graph has totally changed. I am happy that dramatic scenes are being written for me. Playing such scenes with the best of actors gives more warmth.”
