But despite being on home turf, Team USA were unable to avenge their loss to Team Europe in Rome back in 2023.

Luke Donald’s men were rampant all weekend and secured a 15-13 win to retain the Ryder Cup and claim their first win Stateside since 2012.

In 2027, the Americans will have to overcome their woeful record on enemy soil if they want to reclaim the title after a six-year drought.

The next Ryder Cup will present Team USA with another opportunity to end their torrid run, as it will be Europe’s turn to host the event.

SunSport brings you all the details we have so far on the next Ryder Cup.

The venue previously hosted the Irish Open in 2007 and 2008 before undergoing a substantial renovation in 2017.

Patrick O’Donovan, Irish Minister for Arts, Culture, Communications, Media and Sport, said: “The passion of Irish people for golf makes Ireland really stand out internationally as a golfing venue.

“For Ryder Cup week, the eyes of the sporting world will be on the beautiful village of Adare and I am confident that the local community and the people of Limerick and Ireland generally will ensure this event is a wonderful success and that all who attend will want to return to visit Ireland again.”

The 2027 Ryder Cup will be the 46th edition of the competition and will mark its 100th anniversary.
