JOLIE Poirier has been a constant source of support to Dustin throughout his boxing and MMA careers.
The fearsome fighter credits his wife as a massive factor in his many successes — no doubt she’ll be cheering him on during his final fight against Max Holloway.

Dustin Poirier became a household name among even casual combat sports fans following his back-to-back stoppage wins over Conor “Notorious” McGregor in 2021 — having already defeated The Notorious in 2014.
Last but not least in his glittering career, Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier is hoping to make a trilogy of victories against another dangerous opponent.
This time he’s up against Max “Blessed” Holloway at UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
It marks Poirier’s retirement fight, where he will challenge Holloway for the symbolic “BMF” (Baddest Motherfucker) title.
When the fight was announced, Poirier said: “I’m going to lay the gloves down in Louisiana, where it all started for me.
“There’s not a better guy I could think to fight in my retirement fight.
“He’s a legend, former champion, current BMF champion, so we’re going to put on another war.”
The Diamond’s road to superstardom, however, was far from straightforward — there were lots of ups and downs and devastating setbacks.
But he’s always had the unwavering support of childhood friend Jolie.

Jolie Poirier, born Jolie Le Blanc on March 4, 1989, in Lafayette, is more than just the wife of a UFC star.
She is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and co-founder of the Good Fight Foundation — a charitable organization she runs alongside her husband.
The idea started when Dustin and Jolie were packing up fight memorabilia.
They realized that instead of holding on to boxes full of hand wraps and shorts, they could auction off the fight-worn gear.
And the proceeds could go toward making a difference in the lives of people in Louisiana — and even around the world.

How did Dustin and Jolie meet?
The couple began dating 20 years ago, when they were teenagers.
Jolie was front and center the night her then fiance made his professional boxing debut.
And her support is something Poirier credits his success to.
He said: “What’s beautiful… my wife’s been there since the first fight when I was 18.”
Dustin also said in a UFC 264 Countdown video: “Not only my daughter but my wife is like an anchor for sure.

“I don’t think I would be as successful as I am business-wise or fight-wise if she wasn’t in my life at such a young age. And I just realized how much they mean to me and how happy I am when they are around.”
Jolie had no problem supporting her high-school dropout boyfriend’s choice of career, which seemed like a pipe dream to many.
She said of his foray into the sport: “He was just kind of struggling to find himself, I guess you could say.”
They tied the knot in September 2009.
Do Dustin and Jolie have kids?
The Poiriers’ life was turned upside down for the better in August 2016, when they welcomed daughter Parker into the world.

Parker is the couple’s pride and joy and regularly features on Jolie’s Instagram page, which boasts nearly 160,000 followers as of July 2025.
Jolie’s regular appearances at her husband’s fights down the years have seen her develop a thick skin and become immune to the blood and guts of a cage fight.
So much so that she was unrattled when McGregor claimed she’d direct messaged him on Instagram in some outrageous pre-fight mind games ahead of his 2021 trilogy fight with Poirier.
Jolie took the accusation and the ensuing social media abuse on social on the chin.
But she ended up having the last laugh as she gave McGregor the finger to his face seconds after he broke his leg in the Sin City showdown.

Poirier has yet to fulfil his dream of claiming undisputed UFC gold – coming up short against the retired Khabib Nurmagomedov and former champion Charles Oliveira.
And despite her husband’s shortcomings, Jolie is confident his dream will eventually come true.
She said: “I’ve been telling Dustin for years that he’s going to be a world champion.
“I’ve been telling him for years that he’s the best in the world and it’s just a matter of time, if he’s given that opportunity, he’s going to make it happen.
“So, even whenever he got the fight, I was like, ‘I told you.
“It’s going to happen. You’re going to be the world champion.
“Here’s your opportunity. Just go out there and make it happen.’”
