A LOVE Island USA contestant has thrown the show into chaos after leaving the villa two days into the show following her racist remarks resurfacing.
Yulissa Escobar had entered with the hopes of finding love but instead has plunged the show into mayhem – here is everything we know about her and the incident.

Who is Yulissa Escobar?
Yulissa Escobar is 27-years-old and from Miami.
According to her Instagram, Yulissa works in real estate and hospitality with her LinkedIn profile stating that she is a VIP Services Coordinator for a company titled Goat Hospitality Group.
Love Island USA introduced Yulissa on Instagram saying: “She’s all about kindness, connection, and staying true to who she is.
“We can’t wait for you to get to know her heart, her humor and everything in between.”
She has a following of 64k on Instagram as of June 5, 2025 and was one of the original cast members of Season 7.

Why did Yulissa Escobar leave Love Island USA?
After it was announced that Yulissa was a contestant of the seventh season of Love Island USA, audio quickly circulated online of podcast appearances she made.
According to TMZ, it was discovered that she said the N-word on two separate podcasts.
The site also states “she casually drops the racially-charged word 3 times while talking about some messy man drama”.
What will happen to Love Island USA Season 7?

The show made very little comment on Yulissa’s exit, with narrator Iain Stirling simply stating: “Yulissa has left the villa” during the second episode of the season.
She was coupled up with fellow OG Islander Ace Greene, but it was revealed later on during the second episode that he is now regarded as single following Yulissa’s exit.
There is nothing to suggest that the season won’t continue as normal.
Meanwhile, Love Island UK has also been thrown into chaos after Kyle Ashman was sensationally booted from the show just hours after being revealed as one of the new Islanders for the upcoming series.
The 23-year-old was dismissed from the show after The Sun alerted the show’s producers that he was arrested on suspicion of a machete attack, despite being cleared by police.
In his defence, the now-axed contestant spoke out and said: “I fully co-operated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident.
“I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterization.”

Furthermore, it was uncovered that fellow UK contestant Dejon Noel Williams was questioned by police after stealing a woman’s phone on a night out.
He told The Sun: “I was never arrested.
“I voluntarily spoke to the police to clarify the truth about what happened in this incident, with no further action taken.
“To stress, my intentions here were entirely honourable and it is very upsetting to read claims that suggest otherwise.”
Dejon did not fall to the same fate as Kyle and has kept his place ahead of the show commencing on June 9, 2025.
