Why is Dave Portnoy banned from Ohio State’s stadium for Fox TV debut?

BARSTOOL Sports founder Dave Portnoy has been banned from Ohio State’s stadium this weekend.

Portnoy, 48, will be making his highly anticipated TV debut on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff.

Big Noon Kickoff is Fox’s pregame college football show.

Portnoy is a new addition to the team and is set to appear this Saturday before the Week 1 clash between Texas and Ohio State.

But the Barstool boss was banned from entering Ohio Stadium.

Portnoy is still scheduled to appear on Big Noon Kickoff, but won’t be present for the part in stadium.

Why is Dave Portnoy banned?

Portnoy is a well-known and outspoken fan and alum of Michigan, who are fierce rivals of Ohio State.

As a result, the school has taken the decision to ban the founder from their stadium.

According to Front Office Sports, Barstool is banned from the campus altogether.

What was the plan?

It was announced last month by Fox that Portnoy would be joining the football show as part of a wider deal with Barstool Sports.

It included Fox’s streaming rights for the popular The Barstool College Football Show to be shown ahead of Big Noon Kickoff.

The show will begin outside the stadium Saturday, meaning Portnoy is likely to still make an appearance.

What was his response?

Portnoy took to social media on Monday night, posting a picture of himself wearing sunglasses and a moustache.

Responding to Front Office Sports announcement of the decision, Portnoy wrote: “I love this f–king rivalry.

“One team has to win once in a while for it to be considered a rivalry.”

Last season, tensions spilled over after Michigan beat Ohio State for the fourth straight time in November.

After the 13-10 Michigan win over the Buckeyes, a group of Wolverines players planted their school flag on the field – considered a major sign of disrespect in college football – and Ohio State players physically confronted them.

Dan “Big Cat” Katz, another well-known Barstool personality, called the decision by Ohio State “so so dumb.”
