What has Sinner said?

The World No1 further explained his injury after the Dimitrov encounter.

Sinner said: “It happened very early in the match, first game. It was quite an unfortunate fall.

“I have checked the videos a little bit, and it didn’t seem a tough one, but I still felt it quite a lot, especially on the serve and forehand.

“I could feel it.

“So let’s see. Tomorrow we are going to check to see how it is, and then we see.

“Here they have good ATP physios, in any case. The doctors are good.

“As I said, tomorrow we are going to check with MRI to see if there’s something serious, and then we try to adjust it.”

Speaking ahead of the final his coach, Simone Vagnozzi, said: “We’re managing it. It’s getting better every day.

“When you’re on the court, during the match, it’s not even easy to understand what’s happening.

“Then we did an MRI and several tests – he’s managing it well and is focusing on what he can do.”
