Why is Usain Bolt not playing in Soccer Aid 2025?

USAIN BOLT has quickly become a Soccer Aid legend – but the sprinting superstar will NOT feature tonight.

The Jamaican world record holder is no stranger to the huge occasion having featured in several Soccer Aid charity matches dating back to before Covid in 2020.

And Bolt captained the World XI side, who went toe-to-toe with England at Stamford Bridge last year.

However, it ended miserably because not only did the World XI’s five-game winning run come to an abrupt end after suffering a 6-3 thrashing in 2024.

But the sprinting phenomenon was forced to leave the field early, which seems to be the reason why he has been ruled out of the mouthwatering 2025 edition.

Why is Usain Bolt not playing in Soccer Aid 2025?

Usain Bolt has not officially confirmed the reason why he is not participating in Soccer Aid 2025.

But it is more than likely due to the severe injury that he sustained in last year’s iconic event.

The Jamaican was stretchered off during the second half of Soccer Aid after being strongly tackled by Danny Dyer.

Following the challenge, Bolt managed to continue, but the pain wore on throughout the game, and he couldn’t carry on.

However, Usain Bolt could not carry on and was forced off on a stretcher

As he chased back to defend against an England attack, he fell to the ground holding his leg before being taken off.

Bolt then revealed after Soccer Aid that he actually suffered a serious injury during the game – a ruptured Achilles.

It forced him to have surgery on the issue, and a few days later, he would go on to post an update on Instagram.
