Clark was moving with the ball when she was caught in the eye by Jacy Sheldon.
Fever‘s guard reacted angrily and lightly pushed into her rival.
Team-mates then rushed over as tempers began to flare.
Mabrey was one of those who stormed across and she brutally shoved Clark to the deck.
She surprisingly avoided ejection from the game despite complaints from Fever fans.
But the WNBA have revealed that the referee made an error by not sending Mabrey off the court.
ESPN claim that her technical has now been upgraded to a flagrant 2.
Mabrey will also be fined for her actions.
Later in the game, Fever’s Sophie Cunningham received a flagrant 2 for her foul that caused a team melee.
With just 46 seconds left on the clock, Sheldon came away with a steal and raced up the court.
Cunningham then blatantly knocked her to the ground as a scuffle then starte.
Cunningham, Sheldon, and Lindsay Allen were all ejected.
The trio and Mabrey will all be fined – but WNBA does not reveal how much.
