Worker confirms food court change is ‘rolling out across all Costco warehouses in July’ & it impacts $1.50 hot dog combo

COSTCO members will continue to see a major change roll out across all food courts nationwide – and it will change your $1.50 hot dog combo.

The retail giant has continued to switch from Pepsi to Coca-Cola products in each of its 630 locations.

Customers wait in line to order below signage for the Costco Kirkland Signature $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, which has maintained the same price since 1985 despite consumer price increases and inflation, at the food court outside a Costco Wholesale Corp. warehouse store in Hawthorne, California on February 10, 2025. The switch was previously introduced back in January when the CEO Ron Vachris revealed in a shareholders meeting that Pepsi would be replaced by its rival.

This means the hot dog combo, which includes a Kirkland Signature all-beef hot dog and a 20-ounce soda, will only have the option of Coke products.

Including free refills, of course.

“We will be converting our food court fountain business back over to Coca-Cola,” Vachris said on the call.

Coke products were originally a fan favorite at the warehouse until 2013, when Pepsi won the bid to put its fountain drink at food courts.

Costco members have spotted the slow switch back to Coca-Cola in recent weeks but a Coca-Cola spokesperson confirmed to a shopper and Reddit user that the food court “will begin rolling out across all Costco warehouses in July.”

This includes all locations in 14 countries.

Members will see the following new lineup of Coca-Cola machines in the food court:

  • Original Coca-Cola
  • Sprite
  • Diet Coke
  • Coke Zero
  • Barq’s Root Beer
  • Minute Maid Lemonade

However, products could change based on store and state.

CULT CLASSIC

Costco members have been enjoying the $1.50 hot dog combo since it was first introduced in the mid-1980s.

Since then, the price has not moved and become quite a symbol of Costco’s commitment to affordability.

The hot dog combo comes with a choice of soda and slew of condiments like ketchup, onions, relish, and mustard.

However, those condiments may vary based on your local warehouse.

ANOTHER FOOD COURT FAVORITE

For those looking to grab something other than the hot dog combo, Costco has added a new item that shoppers have been calling for.

The Combo Calzone is only $6.99 and comes filled with pepperoni, sausage, cheese, tomato sauce, onions, peppers, olives, and mushrooms.

Foodies can also grab another new favorite, Hot Turkey & Provolone Sandwich.

Costco classic food court items

  • Hot Dog with Soda – $1.50
  • Pepperoni or Cheese Pizza slice – $1.99
  • Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad – $6.99
  • Turkey and Swiss Sandwich – $6.99
  • Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie – $2.49

Costco brought back the sandwich in March of this year after it disappeared during the pandemic.

The popular sandwich contains slices of oven roasted turkey breast, red onions, tomatoes, provolone cheese, and basil garlic mayonnaise on a roll, served hot.

While the Hot Turkey & Provolone sandwich was originally sold for $3.99, the new one costs $6.99.

The chain has also added a new deli item for first time since June.

Plus, the chain trials a ‘dangerous’ change to popular food item.
