THE world’s largest hot dog chain that some believe to be better than Sonic is opening seven new locations in the same US state.
The massive east cost expansion is in the hands of an experienced franchisee, who previously operated multiple McDonald’s locations.

Wienerschnitzel has signed its first development deal along the east coast of the US.
The largest hot dog franchise in the world will be opening up seven new locations in Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia.
There is not yet any opening dates for these new restaurants.
But, the development is in safe hands with Leon Dickey, a veteran franchisee.
Dickey has worked in multiple industry areas, from the kitchen to the executive level.
Dickey praised the move, and hinted at the impact Wienerschnitzel will have in the state.
He said: “Wienerschnitzel immediately stuck out to me for its unique positioning and operational efficiencies, and I knew I wanted to be the one to bring it to Virginia.
“The brand has an extremely loyal following out West, and I believe it’s perfectly poised to resonate with guests here as well.
“There’s nothing like it in the market—and I’m confident that the combination of craveable menu items and its scalable model will set us up for long-term success.
“I have no doubt this will lead to continued growth for Wienerschnitzel on the East Coast.”
The Virginia locations will feature the full menu, and will include all of the classic items form. Wienerschnitzel.
Fans can look forward to the return of the Chili Cheese Dog, Junkyard Dog, chili cheese fries, jalapeño poppers, and Tastee Freez soft serve desserts.
EXCEPTIONAL GROWTH
The announcement comes during a period of notable growth for Wienerschnitzel.
The east coast expansion expose Wienerschnitzel to new audiences, something the brand has been trying to do recently.

Wienerschnitzel recently opened locations inside Walmart stores.
It’s part of Wienerschnitzel’s efforts to engage in non-traditional growth channels.

Wienerschnitzel currently has 340 franchised locations throughout 13 states.
On top of this, more than 50 new locations are in development across the country.
The chain was founded by John Galardi in Wilmington, California, 1961.
