A 1984 car accident that killed a 16-year-old boy is being brought to light again as experts claim that crash photos gave definitive proof of a soul leaving the body.
Over four decades ago, Minnesota teenager John Boulware was on his way to a Prince concert with three friends when their car slammed into a tree at around 40 mph.

Boulware was pronounced dead on the scene after suffering from a broken neck, while the others only suffered minor injuries.
When police arrived on the scene, photos were taken with a film camera showing the car accident for their records.
It wasn’t until days later, when the film was developed, that police were shocked by what they saw in one of the photos.
Now dubbed “The Ghost That Screamed,” a picture at the scene showed what appeared to be a screaming face similar to Boulware’s above the crashed car.
The officer who took the photo, Brian Coyle, explained in a Casefiles Unknown episode that the figure “appeared to be in agony,” and “had distinctive hair and a distinct profile,” drawing similarities to Boulware.
“There were some images on the pictures that definitely weren’t there when I was taking the pictures and that I didn’t have any explanation for. I just couldn’t explain what it was,” he said on the show.
“There’s no explanation in my mind and the experts haven’t been able to to give me an explanation either.”
Throughout the years skeptics and conspiracy theorists have dished out theories on how the face appeared in the photo.
Some have said that the picture had been double exposed, while others have blamed the face on light fragments.
A mystic, however, is now claiming that it is proof of his soul leaving his body.
Hollywood TV star psychic Matt Fraser from When Heaven Calls: Life Lessons from America’s Top Psychic Medium told the Daily Mail that the photo depicts a “soul in transition.”
“This photo was taken just moments after a tragic accident, and what stands out immediately is the ghostly face, what looks like a man screaming, rising above the wreckage,” he said.
“It appears as if he’s screaming. In many tragic deaths, the soul doesn’t immediately realize that it has passed.”
He claimed to see multiple figures in the photo, including a dog that many have said was Boulware’s deceased pet waiting for him in the afterlife.
“I believe these are part of his spiritual team – souls who came to help guide him home,” Fraser said.
“It’s very common for a person to be greeted by loved ones and spirit guides in their final moments. They appear not only to comfort, but to help ease the transition and remind the soul that they are not alone.”
Angie Banicki, a famous tarot reader, said that Boulware was surprised by his death, hence the scream.
“The message I see using my cards is that he was young and passionate and his face was just one of confusion about how he was going,” she said, according to the Daily Mail.
“I don’t see anger in his face. More he just is being taken so quickly. He is surprised and yelling out in search of understanding.”
Fraser called his energy visibly tangible in the photo.
“This photo is one of the clearest visual examples of that in-between moment. And although it’s eerie, it also validates everything I’ve witnessed through my work as a medium.”
