NEW York Yankees manager Aaron Boone went on a raging tirade about the media for its perception of his team’s mindset.
The MLB skipper spoke about his Yankees the day after his team’s 4-1 loss to the division rival Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

Once holding a seven-game lead in the AL East back in May, the Yanks sat four games back of the division-leading Blue Jays after the Monday result that saw the team record two errors.
Since the beginning of June, the Yankees have struggled in multiple areas, including defense, as shortstop Anthony Volpe leads the AL in errors with 13, one of them occurring on Monday.
But Boone has defended Volpe’s defense to the media, declaring that he’s still “a top shortstop.”
On Tuesday, Boone made his weekly appearance on Jomboy Media’s Talkin’ Yanks podcast.
Co-host Jake Storiale claimed that, based on Monday’s game, the Blue Jays simply “wanted it more” compared to the Yankees.
That opinion didn’t sit well with Boone, as he called out the way his team is being treated by the media.
“Yeah, okay… So, Vladdy diving means they wanted it more last night?” Boone said.
“Understand the pestering, bantering, leading questions that are being asked of our guys.
“I don’t want them to just fly off the handle and be emotional.
“We’ve been pretty good over the years of compartmentalizing and dealing with the everyday grind of the regular season and playing in New York, and you start getting emotional and going down that road, it’s a bad trait.”
James O’Brien, better known as Jomboy, then discussed that Yankees closer Luke Weaver was more open about his recent struggles, a trait he wants to see more from Yankees players, and even Boone.
The veteran manager proceeded to accuse Jomboy of “cherry-picking answers” and that “everyone is different” when it comes to speaking to the media.
“Stop with the reaction of how a guy answers a frickin’ question. Serious,” Boone said.

“We are obsessed with it and hell-bent preparation-wise and guys give a rip.
“Some people with give you colorful answers.
“Some guys throw their helmet.
“. … Some guys are calm. Like, stop it.

Boone continued to speak about his players, saying, “They’re not robots.”
He added, “I don’t care what you want.
“These are answers of pestering, everyday questions.
“I want our guys in a good like, boom. We are locked in, when it’s s**** and when it’s really good, and all in between.
“… I want us showing up every day ready to prepare and ready to go.”
The Yankees went on to win Tuesday before losing the final game of the series on Wednesday.
The Bronx Bombers made four errors in the latter contest.
