Young and Restless actor KILLED off show after quitting to go to rival soap as fans rage ‘you deserved so much more!’

YOUNG and The Restless actor Conner Floyd has bid farewell to his character on the long-running soap after his character was brutally killed off.

On Monday night’s episode, Detective Chance Chancellor died in action while fighting the murderous Carter, who had been exposed for killing Damian.

The exit comes after Conner, who replaced Donny Boaz in the role in 2021, opted to leave the long-running series to take over the role of Chad in Days of Our Lives.

Sharing a video of him in a bloody shirt in his dressing room and studio, taken shortly after filming the showdown, Conner thanked fans and the character for his career so far.

“It’s been real GC. What a ride,” he wrote. “I have truly been blessed to call myself a citizen of Genoa City.

“To share the stage with so many talented and hard working actors, creatives and crew members. This is without a doubt a special place.”

“I’m grateful to have been a part of such an iconic piece of art that has lasted through the decades and that has such a stellar, die hard fan base,” he added.

“Thank you for accepting me. Chance will always have a close place in my heart. He’s taught me a lot and I’ll miss him dearly.

“It’s been an absolute honor to represent the Chancellor legacy.”

He signed off: “Detective Chancellor, over and out.”

In the nailbiting scenes, the evil Carter decided to kill off potential whistleblower Cane to stop him telling the truth – but Chance was listening in on the confrontation alongside Victor.

With Carter confessing to killing Damian in order to get closer to Lily, he grabbed Lily and held her at gunpoint as he grew desperate.

In a bid to save Lily’s life, Cane begged Carter to take her place – and Carter obliged.

But as Carter changed focus on who he was aiming the gun at, Chance saw the opportunity to stop him in his tracks, leading to a struggle that saw the gun go off right in the detective’s abdomen.

The brave officer then collapsed into Cane’s arms, with Carter making a run for it as Chancellor dies on the ground – only to die from a gunshot himself moments later.

But fans were not best pleased, begging him to return and saying Chance “deserved better”.

“You’re going to be missed on Y&R!! You were fantastic in the role of Chance,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

A second noted: “Always loved your portrayal as Chance! #YR didn’t deserve you so I’m done watching, I can’t wait to see you on Days.”

“They should NOT have killed you off 😞,” raged a third, adding: “You will be missed!! Best of luck at Days of our lives 🙌”

“Really wish it would have been a different ending for Chance!! Good luck on your next journey,” said a fourth.

While a fifth said: “I’m disappointed in this I know you have moved on but killing the character blows I’m gonna miss your handsome face.”
